Introduction
Champs Universal Music Festival 2025 brought together young, passionate musicians from across Asia for an inspiring celebration of talent, education, and cultural exchange in Penang, Malaysia. The festival opened with intensive masterclasses led by respected musicians:
- Mr. Raymond Tan conducted the piano masterclass, providing valuable technical and artistic guidance.
- Ms. Tan Jin Yin led the vocal masterclass, offering insights into vocal control, performance expression, and musicality.
These sessions served as a foundational learning experience for all participants, laying the groundwork for the competitive performances that followed.
Practice Sessions: Final Touch Before the Big Day

Participants were offered 30-minute practice slots with their teachers or guardians. Dedicated rooms were made available for piano and drum categories, ensuring optimal preparation and comfort for every performer.
Festival Day: A Showcase of Musical Diversity

Wawasan Open University, Georgetown, Penang
The main festival spanned approximately 10 hours, showcasing a wide array of performances across different instruments and age levels. Indonesian participants took part in various categories:
- Piano: 30 participants
- Vocal: 15 participants
- Violin: 2 participants
- Guitar: 1 participant
- Drum: 8 participants
Competitions were categorized into Age Category and Grading Category, providing fair and inclusive platforms for every level of musical proficiency.
Ceremony Concert & Awarding
Following the conclusion of each category’s performances, winners were announced on-site in a celebratory Ceremony Concert & Awarding Day. This moment of recognition honored the dedication and artistic achievements of every performer.
