SIPAF Shanghai 2026 Journey: Performing on an International Stage

The Shanghai International Performance Arts Festival (SIPAF) Shanghai 2026 provided an exceptional opportunity for young Indonesian musicians to experience international performance, learning, and cultural exchange in one of Asia’s most vibrant cities.

Held from April 3–6, 2026, in Shanghai, China, the festival brought together talented young performers through a series of activities designed to support their artistic growth, including practice sessions, masterclasses, competitions, and an award ceremony.

More than just a competition, SIPAF Shanghai 2026 became a valuable journey of learning, preparation, and achievement for every participant.

A Musical Journey in Shanghai

Known as one of China’s leading cultural and artistic centers, Shanghai offered participants the opportunity to perform in a professional international environment while experiencing a new culture and atmosphere.

For many young musicians, this was an important milestone in their musical journey—an opportunity to gain international exposure, challenge themselves, and perform with confidence on prestigious stages.

Preparation is an essential part of every successful performance.

To help participants feel comfortable before the competition, FIMO provided dedicated practice rooms where participants could rehearse alongside their parents or teachers. Each participant received 30 minutes of practice time with access to both upright and grand pianos.

These practice sessions allowed participants to familiarize themselves with the instruments and environment, helping them build confidence and perform at their best during the competition.

Masterclass: A Valuable Learning Experience

As part of the festival experience, participants were given the opportunity to join a private one-on-one masterclass session with a professional teacher according to their respective instruments.

The masterclass provided personalized guidance and feedback, allowing participants to refine their musical interpretation, technique, and overall performance. Through direct interaction with experienced educators, participants gained valuable insights that supported their development as young musicians.

This educational component became an important complement to the competition experience, encouraging participants to continue learning and growing through music.

Competition: Showcasing Talent in Shanghai

Competition day marked the moment when preparation met performance.

Approximately 33 piano participants from Indonesia took part in the competition, presenting their best performances before an international jury panel. Performing at renowned venues such as the Shangyin Opera House and Jaguar Shanghai Symphony Hall – Chamber Hall provided participants with an unforgettable international stage experience.

Each performance reflected months of dedication, discipline, and passion for music. Participants demonstrated not only their technical skills but also their musical expression and artistic individuality.

The competition atmosphere encouraged participants to remain focused, confident, and committed to delivering their very best on stage.

Award Ceremony: Celebrating Achievement

This special moment allowed participants, parents, and teachers to celebrate the hard work and dedication that had brought them to the international stage. Beyond receiving awards and certificates, participants gained something even more meaningful—the confidence and experience that come from performing internationally.

The ceremony served as a reminder that every achievement is the result of commitment, perseverance, and continuous learning.
