Seoul Asia Music Competition (SAMC) 2026: A Meaningful International Experience for Young Indonesian Musicians

In Seoul, music became a meeting point for preparation, learning, and competition. From 20 to 22 August 2026, the Seoul Asia Music Competition (SAMC) 2026 unfolded through practice sessions, private masterclass learning, competition performances, and an award ceremony at Rode Arts Centre.

A Platform for Musical Learning and Performance

The program began with practice and masterclass sessions on 20–21 August, allowing participants to prepare before the competition. The following days brought the focus to competition performances and awards, continuing the program at the same venue.

Around 13 participants from Indonesia took part in the competition. Across the three-day program, practice and masterclass sessions preceded the competition, with awards presented directly afterward.

Masterclass – One-on-One Learning with a Master Teacher

20–21 August 2026 | Rode Arts Centre, Seoul, South Korea

The masterclass featured private, one-on-one learning with a master teacher according to each participant’s instrument. For Piano, the sessions were led by Prof. Minjung Kim from Korea.

The masterclass was held at Rode Arts Centre as part of the program leading into the competition.

Practice Session – Preparing Before the Competition

Practice sessions gave participants time to rehearse with their parents or teachers ahead of the competition. Each participant had 30 minutes for their practice session.

The practice rooms were equipped with both upright and grand pianos.

Competition – Young Indonesian Musicians on the International Stage

On 21–22 August, around 13 participants from Indonesia took part in the competition at Rode Arts Centre in Seoul.

Following the preparation sessions held on the preceding days, the competition formed the main performance component of the program before the award ceremony.

Awards were presented directly after the competition on 21–22 August at Rode Arts Centre.

The ceremony marked the conclusion of the competition program, with awards presented following the competition sessions.
