9th AAIMC Taiwan 2025: A Journey of Music, Mastery, and Memories

In late August, Taipei blossomed into a meeting point of cultures, talent, and artistry as it welcomed the 9th Asia Aegean International Music Competition (AAIMC) 2025. From August 22 to 25, young musicians from across Asia came together not only to compete, but to learn, grow, and celebrate the beauty of music in a city rich with heritage and charm.


Masterclass – A Personal Touch of Guidance

The competition opened with intimate one-on-one masterclasses, where young pianists were guided by distinguished masters. Each session went beyond technique, delving into interpretation, artistry, and the confidence required to shine on an international stage.

Practice Sessions – Preparing for the Stage

To prepare participants for their performances, practice rooms were provided for piano, vocal, and violin. Each participant enjoyed a 30-minute slot with their teacher or parent, polishing final details and stepping into the competition with clarity and confidence.

Competition Days – Excellence in Performance
August 23–24, 2025 | National Taipei University of Education, Taipei

Over two full days, the halls of the National Taipei University of Education resonated with music from dawn to dusk. Indonesia proudly sent around 40 piano participants, 6 vocal participants, and 4 violin participants. Each performance stood as a testament to discipline, dedication, and the universal language of music—judged by an esteemed international panel.


Award Ceremony – Honoring Talent

Awards were announced on the same day as each competition category, keeping the spirit alive and celebratory. Trophies and certificates were presented to recognize not only technical excellence, but also the heart and soul each young musician poured into their craft.


Tour Day – Beyond Music, Discovering Taiwan
August 25, 2025 | Around Taipei

The final day took the journey beyond the stage into Taiwan’s cultural and natural wonders. A group of 20 participants, families, and teachers embarked on a day tour, visiting the cascading Golden Waterfall, the nostalgic Jiufen Old Street, and the magical Shifen Sky Lantern experience. The day concluded at the serene Shifen Waterfall, followed by a warm dinner together—sealing the competition with unforgettable memories of music, friendship, and discovery.

The 9th AAIMC Taiwan 2025 was not merely a competition—it was a celebration of growth, artistry, and cultural exchange. For the Indonesian delegation, it was both a proud achievement and a cherished journey, echoing the truth that music transcends borders and unites hearts across the world.
