Genting International Music Festival (GIMF) 2026 marked another remarkable international journey for young Indonesian musicians seeking to expand their artistic horizons beyond national borders. Held in Genting Highlands, Malaysia, this prestigious music festival brought together talented young performers in an inspiring environment that combined preparation, education, competition, and recognition.
As a trusted international event organizer, FIMO proudly supported Indonesian participants throughout the entire journey, ensuring that every young musician could focus on developing their musical potential while gaining valuable international experience.
A Platform for International Musical Growth

Genting International Music Festival is designed to provide young musicians with opportunities to perform, learn, and grow within an international setting. By bringing together participants from various backgrounds and regions, the festival encourages artistic excellence while fostering confidence and global exposure.
At the 2026 edition, Indonesian participants represented the Piano category, showcasing their dedication, discipline, and passion for music on an international stage. Through careful preparation and professional guidance from FIMO, participants were able to experience a meaningful musical journey that extended far beyond competition results.
Practice Session – Building Confidence Before the Stage
27 May 2026 | J Music Studio, Selangor, Malaysia
Understanding the importance of preparation, FIMO arranged dedicated practice sessions prior to the competition. Each participant was provided with a 30-minute practice session, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the instruments, venue atmosphere, and performance conditions.
Participants were accompanied by their parents or teachers during the session, creating a comfortable environment that supported both technical preparation and mental readiness. With access to both upright and grand pianos, young musicians had the opportunity to rehearse effectively and gain confidence before stepping onto the competition stage.
Masterclass – Learning Directly from International Expertise
27 May 2026 | J Music Studio, Selangor, Malaysia
One of the highlights of the festival was the exclusive Masterclass session, where participants received private one-on-one instruction from an experienced international music educator.
For the piano category, the masterclass was conducted by:
Ms. Tammy Lim (Malaysia)
This personalized learning experience allowed participants to refine their techniques, strengthen musical interpretation, and receive professional insights tailored to their individual development. Beyond technical improvement, the masterclass also inspired young musicians to approach music with greater creativity, discipline, and artistic maturity.
Competition – Indonesian Young Talents Perform on the International Stage

29–30 May 2026 | Grand Ion Delemen Hotel, Genting Highlands, Malaysia
The competition served as the centerpiece of the festival, providing participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills before an international panel of adjudicators.
A total of 16 piano participants from Indonesia joined the competition under FIMO’s coordination and guidance. Throughout the event, participants showcased not only their technical abilities but also their musical expression, stage presence, and dedication to their craft.
Competing in an international environment enabled participants to gain valuable performance experience while broadening their perspectives on global music standards. For many young musicians, the event became an important milestone in their artistic journey.
Award Ceremony – Celebrating Achievement and Dedication

Following the completion of the competition, the Award Ceremony provided a memorable moment of recognition and celebration for all participants.
Receiving awards and certificates on an international stage represented more than simply achieving results—it acknowledged the hard work, perseverance, and commitment demonstrated throughout the preparation and performance process.
The ceremony served as an encouraging reminder that every performance contributes to a musician’s growth and development, regardless of the final outcome.
