The prestigious Vasa Hotel Surabaya served as an elegant and comfortable venue, creating the perfect environment for a day filled with music and artistic expression. With its modern facilities and first-class ambiance, the venue enhanced the professional and inspiring tone of the HKYPA competition.
121 Enthusiastic Participants Across Three Instruments
HKYPA Surabaya 2025 recorded an impressive 121 participants, divided into three instrumental categories:
- Piano: ± 82 participants
- Strings (Violin): 2 participants
- Vocal: ± 37 participants
Each instrument was further divided into multiple categories to ensure fair and meaningful assessment. These included:
- Free Selection Category – grouped by age
- Grading Category – based on participants’ performance level or grade
- Classical Category – focusing on classical repertoire and interpretation
This diverse structure allowed young musicians to choose categories that matched their skills, confidence level, and artistic interests.
A Smooth, Well-Structured Competition Day
To ensure comfort and flow, the competition was divided into four sessions, each lasting approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. This format not only provided a well-paced schedule for participants and judges but also allowed families and teachers to enjoy the performances in a supportive and organized atmosphere.
The energy throughout the day was remarkable. Parents, teachers, and young performers showed extraordinary enthusiasm—especially those aiming for top achievements and hoping to advance to the next international stage.

The Awarding Ceremony was held on the same day and inside the same venue, conducted session by session. The award categories included:

- 2nd Place
- 3rd Place
- 4th Place
- 5th Place
- Gold Prize
- Silver Prize
- Bronze Prize
Each awarding moment was filled with applause, pride, and joy. Families and teachers celebrated every achievement, recognizing the dedication, discipline, and countless hours of practice behind each performance.
The excitement grew even stronger among participants who earned 1st–5th Place and Gold Prize, as many expressed their desire to continue their journey to the International HKYPA stages in Shanghai and ultimately to the HKYPA Grand Final in Hong Kong. This enthusiasm reflects the growing impact and prestige of HKYPA within Indonesia’s performing arts community.
