The prestigious Beijing Invitational Open Contest (BIOC) 2025 was successfully held from April 18 to 20 in Beijing, China. The event brought together young, talented pianists and vocalists from around the world, including a strong delegation from Indonesia.
Day 1: Masterclass & Practice Sessions
On April 18, the event kicked off with an exclusive sesi Masterclass at the Jia Yun Piano Room (Rooms 201-203, 2nd Floor, Deyuan Jiuhé Building, No. 10 Hongyan Road, Shilihe, Chaoyang District, Beijing). The session featured inspiring guidance from two Steinway Young Artists: Miss Chen Sin and Miss Poon Ho Suet, who shared valuable insights and techniques with aspiring musicians.
Parallel to the masterclass, practice sessions were held at In Keys Music (same venue). Each participant was given a 30-minute slot to rehearse with their teacher or parent, focusing on piano performance preparation.
Day 2 & 3: Competition Days and Ceremony Concert
Competition Days
The competition was held across two days, April 19 and 20, at the Beijing Music Industrial Park (8 Heizhuanghu Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing). Each day featured full schedules of performances across multiple age categories, with contestants showcasing their talents in both piano and vocal disciplines.
Indonesia was well represented with around 30 piano contestants dan 2 vocal contestants participating. The performances demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and artistry, drawing praise from both the judges and audience.

Awards Ceremony & Results Announcement
Following the final performances in each category, the Ceremony Concert & Awarding Session was held at the same venue. Winners were announced on the spot, with trophies and certificates distributed immediately. It was a proud moment for many young Indonesian musicians who achieved notable success.

Jury Concert
Also on April 20, the event concluded with a Jury Concert, where all five judges performed for participants, parents, and teachers. The concert began at 13:30 and lasted about an hour, offering a rare opportunity for attendees to enjoy performances by world-class musicians and gain deeper appreciation of the art.
The Event was Resounding Success
